UK students, your Freshers' Packs have been sent out. If you don't receive it before you set off for uni, don't worry - You can pick one up from the Students' Union during freshers' week.

 Freshers' Week is all about getting stuck in to uni life and finding out everything you need to know about the university, your course, and your Students' Union. SUSU is putting all sorts of events on for you, day and night, during Freshers' Week and beyond. Check out the timetable to see an overview of what's planned. We're cramming loads of advice and info onto fresh.susu.org, and if you're a UK student, you'll also get a Freshers' Pack through the post. They're bursting at the seams with goodies, including our 2009 Freshers' DVD. If you're an international student, you can pick one up when you arrive.

Two really important daytime events during freshers week are the Bunfight on Wednesday and the Freshers Fayre on Friday. The Bunfight sees almost every one of over 150 clubs and societies competing for your attention and membership. Joining clubs and socities is a great way to meet likeminded people and have a good time, and the Bunfight is the best way to talk to the people running them and whet your appetite for life at uni.

Friday's Freshers Fayre is an amazing reward for everyone who manages to drag themselves out of bed after the first four days of Freshers' Week antics. We pack the Students Union and sports halls with dozens and dozens of companies all tripping over eachother to give you free stuff in return for a moment of your attention, and everyone benefits. You may as well skip breakfast and arrive early, as Dominos will be giving out free pizza all day, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

When you arrive in halls, you'll get a Freshers' Survival Kit about what's going on, when, and where, so don't worry about missing out. If you're not staying in halls, look out for the promotions team on highfield campus during freshers week to get your hands on some goodies.
